setld hang

I have a hard-mounted NFS filesystem for which the host is down.
If I try to load a subsystem onto my normal system disk using setld,
it hangs at the point of:

'Checking file system space required to install specified subsets:'

giving me continuous Working... messages.
and complains that the dead host isnt responding.

I'm not trying to access disks on the dead host with setld,
so why is it bothered?

I've tried 'umount -f -h deadhost' to force a umount but this
doesnt work. It complains:

/tmp: not currently mounted (Why ????)

and still leaves the deadhosts filesystems mounted.

I cant currently temporarily power up the deadhost, it really is dead,
and I'd rather not have to reboot my system.

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers,
