I am cross-posting this query to both lists because I can't figure whose "fault"
it might be.
Since Compaq refuses to implement Java3D for Tru64-Unix, we purchased a Sun
Ultra-80 in part to run some applications that use Java3D. These run fine
directly on the Sun workstation, and I have successfully displayed them using
Reflection-X on a Windows PC using OpenGL. Of course the application can also run
directly on Windows just fine.
However, I can NOT get the 3D display on either my AlphaStation 500 or my PWS
500au.
Each is running V4.0d with latest patches and "Open3D" updates.
The user interface windows appear but the 3D window is blank when run from the
Sun. There ARE a bunch of fonts that are complained about, but all of the many
widgets do show up.
I have verified that GLX works fine - the OpenGL program
/usr/openwin/demo/GL/sparcv9/ogl_install_check
shows fine performance even over an ssh mediated x-connection.
The interaction (picking) in the 3D window also seems to work as my feedback shows
different objects being picked. But there isn't anything visible.
I have not seen this problem mentioned on any newsgroup or archive that I have
searched.
Does anyone on either end have a clue?
