SUMMARY: Users can't log in - no directory error message

The problem was resolved by resetting the permissions on the root
directory. We do not know the cause of the problem.


ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
We suddenly have an urgent problem with most users not being able to log
in to our Tru64 4.0e server with C2 security enabled.

The only users who can log in are those with supervisor accounts. All other
users are unable to log in and get a "no directory" error message or "no shell"
error message.
