Hello Managers

I have been requested to install a DEGPA into an ES40 running Tru64 V4.0F.

The docs that come with the card only refer to V4.0D. After some searching
of the web and archives of this forum, it appears that the drivers that were
supplied with the card are no longer required to be installed (via setld) as
they have been part of the operating system since V4.0E.

The question I have is around the configuration of this card into the
kernel.
The manual suggests booting genvmunix, doing a
sysconfig -c alt
doconfig

Other entries have suggested that it only requires the line

pseudo-device alt

to be added to the configuration file and then the kernel rebuilt. My
concern around this is that I have been shown a configuration file for a
system that already has a DEGPA and that has the line

config-driver alt

in its configuration file.

Can anyone please tell me the correct way of doing this.

Many thanks

Kevin Jones
