Looks like Sharity is it.
The "free" version has enough support for my needs.
It compiled without any problems.
I simply start the Sharity daemon with "sharity.init start"
and then use "cifsMount //ntHost/ntdir /unixMntPnt" with the
necessary username/password and ..boom! - it's there.
I will just have to add the init script to start/stop the daemon and
then mount the NT server's directory.
