I recently had issues with the priority bus on an ES40.

While trying to install a KGPSA and a new SCSI DIFF card I would boot to
single user under the generic kernel. I was unable to mount /usr (or any
other filesystem for the matter) due to device names changed.

My first note to the list was why does this happen. I was told the the ES40
has a priority bus. I looked in my owners guide and saw a PCI 0 and PCI 1 0
had the top 4 slots and 1 had the remaining 6. I assumed that the priority
was top to bottom as the book didnt specify differently. Well.... the old
assume saying came true. The priority is starting at slot 6 or pci 1 slot 1
as #1 and slot 4 or pci 0 slot 4 being last.

Last night I rearanged all my cards and put my SCSI card with the HSZ70
hanging off of it in the highest priority slot and added the rest from there,
and it worked great!

Thanks to all that helped me in this matter my hats of too you.
