ACL: backup issues?

  Hello-

We're looking into the access control list (ACL) feature
of Tru64, and we've got a question. When a file is set up
with ACLs by the user or root, and that file is backed up
to tape, does the ACL information remain intact upon
restore?

I guess I'm trying to puzzle out just where the ACL
database is maintained- is it a file on the filesystem
or does it become part of the file itself?

Does anyone have any opinions about ACLs in general?
Do they really work as advertised? So far in our testing they
seem to be fine.

  Thanks!
  Marty
