I was referred to this list by DEC support as they thought one of you may be
of assistance.
I thought I had done my homework but....
After buying a NonCommercial True64 Hobbyist Kit for my Digital Server 3305
I have come to find that DEC, in their desire to still sell near identical
and more expensive Alpha Servers at the time, somehow munged the SRM for
Digital Servers so as not to allow them to run DEC Unix. As I am now in
posession of a $100.00 set of coasters, I am curious as to if anyone has
successfully hacked around this? I'm open to hardware hacks if necessary.
Somewhat amusing, though vexing, that it runs any number of Open Source *nixes
(currently NetBSD and Debian) quite happily but not DEC Unix.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
