thank you all for the responses. I got so many it was overwhelming. But, the general consensus was that it was easy with no problems. My questions on the file systems and the firmware updates are nothing to worry about.
One thing was that I received several questions as to why I was not going to 4.0g. I thought I couldn't. I called Compaq and found out I could. So, I am going to make the leap to 4.0g. Same story with it. No problems. Just add the patch kit 1.
