It ended up being a DUPLEX PROBLEM after all.. It would appear the ifconfig
speed commands (IE: ifconfig ee0 up speed 200) don't work so hot.
So on the suggestion of Larry Clegg and Sean O'Connell I added the following
line to /etc/inet.local :
/usr/sbin/lan_config -i ee0 -a 0 -s 100 -x 1
^ ^ ^\ ^\
iface medium(utp) speed duplex(on/full)
rebooted the host and voila.. here are the speeds I now get to the NT/Linux
hosts :
ncftp / > put vmunix
vmunix: 14.89 MB 10.71
MB/s
