Thanks to all for the suggestions. Most suggestions were in one of two
categories:
(1) use proper firmware revision
(2) don't forget to run the ECU utility
The Firmware Update V5.8 CD provided me with SRM FW Rev V5.3 for my
AlphaServer 2100 so I hope this is appropriate for running Tru64 UNIX V5.1
on the 2100. I don't have the current ECU utility for this firmware
revision so getting and installing the latest ECU utility is the most
likely solution. I will repost the question if the ECU upgrade does not
solve the problem.
My thanks to kathee, Ashok, Tom Linden, Thomas Blinn, Dennis Sylvester,
Olle Eriksson, Thomas Leitner, Joe Fletcher, William Magill, Douglas Brown,
and anyone I missed!
