Hi managers!
First of all, thank you to all who responded to my previous question
for your valuable information.
I'll try to explain my situation in great detail in order you say
what you would do.
Tru64 UNIX 4.0f, PK4. 2 ES40s forming a cluster, conected to a
RA8000.
We're planning to buy a new ES40.
At this very moment we've 3 applications, which I'll call A, B and
C, but only A is a TruCluster service. Now, we're planning the other two
applications to be TruCluster services too. The three applications are
similar: intensive writes to the databases in particular periods of time
and not very intensive writes during most of the time. Moreover, our
amount of data is small.
We are planning to move to Tru64 UNIX 5.1 and TruCluster Server 5.1
All the disks are RAID 1, and 9,1GB 10K each.
This is our situation now:
Disk 1: A applications 0,5 GB
B data 1,2 GB
Disk 2: A data 1,5 GB
Disk 3: A indexes 0,8 GB
B indexes 0,3 GB
Disk 4: C data 0,4 GB
C indexes 0,6 GB
User's home 0,2 GB
I know perhaps this is a very strange configuration, but I ask you
what would you do with all these to get the best performance at the
lower cost possible (we could buy 6-8 new disks now).
Thank you very much in advance.
