 Hi ,

( Original question follows )

This Card was not for the alphaserver 1000a and 2000/250.
They just don't match - the network card is working well on
PCs and maybe there is more information under
 http://www.pentium.com/design/network/specupdt/21143specupdt.htm
...
the solution was - as werner mentioned -
 to buy a DE500-BA , which came within 3 days !!

[ At least this de500-ba card works without problem with ewa0_mode
at 'FAST' setting
--ftp shows (3e+03 Kbytes/s) transferring to some gigabit-ethernet--

... setting ewa0_mode to full-duplex ( fastfd ) seems to work also
- telnet , login ... but when connecting to other systems via ftp
after the 'put xxx' the ftp - session hangs - so I changed back to FAST
- ewa0_mode ... ?? ]
