SCSI reset

  I have received a new XP1000 with Tru64 OS 5.1. I have connected a DLT7000
with a SN-KZPCA-AA(1 CH wide Ultra-2(LVD) ADAPT) to make a backup the
system before configuring it. I could make the backup of / (root) FS. When
I do the
backup(vdump) of /usr FS I get the following message after few minutes:

vdump: unable to write to device </dev/ntape/tape0_d1>; [5] I/O Error
vdump : do you want to retry?

If I write 'yes' it does vdump 1 min. and comes the same question. I can
see
the following message on Console window:

  SCSI Bus reset.

The Technician changed the HW adapter. The situation is still the same. We
have
modified the SCSI-RESET parameter in boot prompt level before doing the
operation.
Any idea why the SCSI makes a reset ?

  regards,
  Kumar
