This mailing list's archives is full of questions and summaries
on "How to enable to root login from Xwindows?" I have the reverse
problem.
How to DISABLE root login from Xwindows?
Here is the /etc/securettys file:
/dev/console
local:0
:0
/dev/lat/625
/dev/lat/626
But users can login directly to root from xCursion. The weirdest
thing is that these logins to root do not even get recorded in
the /var/adm/syslog.dated/*/auth.log files!
The systems are Tru64 v5.1 - one with Patch #3; other without the
patch.
Any suggestions on where to look for trouble spots will be greatly
appreciated.
