Many thanks to Paul Lambert, Cathy Chandra and Samier,
It seems that the Tru64 machine does it's job and it fowards the messages
but our problem really lies in the fact that our NMS software (unicenter)
installs a pipe and a corresponding syslog entry in syslog.conf (TRU 64),
redirecting *.info messages to the console daemon (on the NMS server which
resides on an NT server). So our problem probably lies in the interprocess
communication mechanism between the TRU 64 (client) and the NMS server.
It is not that our NT server runs a syslogd itself, otherwise things will be
easier
Original question
Hi
We have set up a syslog server on a TRU 64 Version 5.1 and we would like
those messages to be forwarded to another NMS server with a certain
software
that
the NMS provides.
The question is : Is there a certain flag that the syslogd should be
started
with, in order for the messages to be forwarded from the TRU server to
the
NMS server. By defaylt the syslogd is started using the -e flag.
