Sorry I did not include this, to get passwd shadowing working is used the
command # sysman secconfig. Found where I could select shadowing and
selected it. Changes however will not take affect until a reboot. Still
having the question of is it possible to remove passwd's from account's with
shadowing turned on.

Thanks to all who responded so far, I was able to turn passwd shadowning on
(pending a reboot) however on our main production server, we have accounts
that do not have passwords to them (accounts are set up on login to go into
main application and only setup for one login). How do I use shadowning and
still have the ability to remove password's from account's? Is this
possible?
Admins,
Is there a way in a 5.x system to turn on passwd shadowing without
installing advanced security? Searching through the archives I know that on
4.0x systems you have to install the whole thing. I am hoping this changed
with 5.x.
TIA,
