-----Original Message-----
rc.config got wiped out on XP1000 running 4.0F.
I have restored almost everything without any problems, except for
PAGERAW, PAGEFILE, PARTITION and PARTITIONTYPE entries.

I could restore these entries manually except for PARTITIONTYPE.
I am not sure what it should be.

Another question is: What puts these entries in there?
swapon -s shows that everything is fine with swap.

Thanks to Dr. Tom Blinn, Peyton Bland and others.

Though no 100% sure answers were given, the following might be true:

- the above variables are put there during installation

- PARTITIONTYPE variable can be found using "uerf -R | more"
and looking for hard drive type. Not certain though what part of that
type system puts into the variable.
Sometimes it drops 2 last symbols.
It might do something else. No certainty here.

- I liked this answer from Dr Thomas Blinn:
"On Tru64 UNIX, the "swapon" related parameters in /etc/rc.config
are not really used. They are in the file, but nothing that you
need to care about ever uses them. As I recall, they MIGHT be
used in setting up a dataless client system for the first time,
but then again, perhaps not. In other words, don't worry about
it a lot."

So, that's what I will do. Do not worry and see what happens.
It's not a critical system, it's actually my desktop.

Thanks again
