I have a Dec Alpha XP1000 running Digital Unix 4.0f with a Powerstorm 300
graphics card. The resolution is presently set to 1280x1024. I want to
change the resolution down to 800x600. I have tried the following things:
added the following lines one at a time to /usr/var/X11/Xserver.conf and
restarted the Xserver
-pn -su -bs -nice -2 -screen 800x600 -vsync 72
-pn -su -bs -nice -2 -screen 800x600 -vsync 72 -vclass PseudoColor -depth 8
-pn -screen 800x600 -vsync 72
-pn -su -bs -nice -2 -screen 1024x768 -vsync 76
I have also tried adding the above lines to /var/X11/Xserver.conf which
basically points to /usr/var/X11/Xserver.conf
I looked in /usr/dt/config/Xservers for dt logins as some suggested and
added
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -screen0 800x600 -vsync 72
I looked into the specifications of the Powerstorm 300 card and it does
support 800x600 at 60 & 72 Hz and there are no knobs/switch that need to be
manually set on the PCI card to change the resolution.
The monitor that I have does support 800x600 resolution.
Does anyone know how I can change the resolution, is there any other way.
Please advice.
Thanks.
