Managers,
I was informed that you should not be installing binaries from sources that
you don't know about. A sysadmin shared the following:
> Don't bother. People should not be installing binaries from sources of
> uncertain trustworthiness (no disrespect intended). Simply describe any
> deviations from the documented build/installation procedure that you
> found necessary, along with your rationale for them, as a text file.
> That will be far more useful than any attempt to save us the very minor
> trouble of typing "./Configure -DuseThreads -de" by ourselves.
Just to let you all know, I followed installation instructions provided with
the sources and had no problem compiling on V4.0F and V5.1A using the
default C compiler provided.
