sequential restore

Hi Admins,

Just a simple question that came to my mind while watching the /usr
restoration on one of my test systems...

If the backup procedure using dump command is sequential (depends on
the alphabet) why is it not sequential while restoring?, and if it not
sequential during the backups, why is it not?
