Thanks to all!
I'm not sure exactly what fixed it, but I put "export
DTNONETWORK=true" at the end of my .dtprofile, logged in in failsafe mode,
logged back in in normal mode, and it works fine now.
This information came from John Lanier:
1. Assure that you have the appropriate value set in /etc/rc.config:
--> rcmgr get XLOGIN
cde
2. Use the "Failsafe" session option on the login screen to
allow you to login with just mwm and an xterm.
Edit your $HOME/.dtprofile and add the following line at the end:
export DTNONETWORK=true
Now try and login to a normal CDE session. If successful,
this may represent a transient network problem. If not,
then the network needs to be investigated further.
