I'm trying to set up snapshots on an HSG80 (first time) for use during
backups. I added the snapshot (add snap d2 s1 d1 use_parent_wwid)
creating the second LUN which I can see from the HSZ command line. But
I cannot see the snapshot LUN from the O/S (5.1a), even after a bus
scan. How do I access the snashot LUN? Did I miss something?
Also, it wouldn't let me create a snapshot LUN smaller than the original
LUN. Is there any way around this? The snapshot will be added/deleted
only before/after a brief (4 hr) backup window when we anticipate
minimal writes so we don't want to have to have double the disk space (a
500GB LUN) just for this.
