Turn your NetWare server into an Intranet/Internet publishing server

The NetWare Web Server software lets you publish documents on internal corporate networks and on the World Wide Web, enabling your company to establish an Internet presence easily and cost-effectively. Implemented as a set of NetWare Loadable Modules (NLMs), NetWare Web Server converts your NetWare server into a powerful platform for publishing HyperText Markup Language (HTML) pages. It leverages existing systems to integrate your NetWare network with the Internet, giving your business a powerful new way to communicate.

Stake your claim on the World Wide Web

The World Wide Web is the fastest-growing service on the Internet today. It offers an almost unlimited potential for companies to market their products and services, as well as communicate more easily and effectively with customers, investors, employees, manufacturers and other individuals. NetWare Web Server is an easy way for you to take advantage of the exciting opportunities that the Web offers.

Install a powerful publishing tool quickly and easily

With a simple installation and configuration process that takes mere minutes, NetWare Web Server gives your company a powerful Web publishing solution. It runs on your NetWare server, so you get all the capabilities you need to create, publish and browse Web documents for a minimal investment. Netware Web Server includes everything you need right out of the box to build a dedicated Web server.

Gain easy entry to the world of electronic publishing

Because this solution is based on NetWare, you don't have to learn or invest in any UNIX®-based operating systems and tools to participate in the world of the Internet. Use the Web authoring tool of your choice to create documents in HTML, the standard format of the Web. Your Web documents can be embedded with links to other documents with related information. You then "publish" the documents by copying them to the Web Server, limiting access to certain users if desired. The Web Server also includes Netscape Navigator*, the market-leading Web browser, so the administrator can view the Web pages he publishes on the Web Server.

Publish both internally and externally

This flexible solution allows you to publish Web documents whether your NetWare network is connected to the Internet or not. You may choose to start by publishing documents for internal company use only, then publish documents for Internet users later on when your company acquires an Internet connection. NetWare Web Server supports all the common features of the World Wide Web, so you get a full-featured Web server without having to buy a UNIX system. It includes support for forms, Java applets, the Remote Common Gateway Interface (RCGI), the Local Common Gateway Interface (LCGI), access controls and logging, as well as NetBasic, BASIC and Perl script interpreters.

Intranet Publishing Solution

If you are using your NetWare Web Server for internal Web publishing, you should check out the Novell InnerWeb Publisher. The Novell InnerWeb Publisher™ includes everything you need in one box to turn your NetWare network into an Intranet:

Provide security for your documents

NetWare Web Server leverages NetWare security features such as NetWare Directory Services (NDS) authentication to provide secure access to your NetWare Web Server and directories. In addition, access controls--based on IP addresses, user name, hostname, directory, users or groups --let you limit access to specific Web documents. These features let you publish information and still maintain control over who views it. In addition, the NDS browser NLM lets you view the NDS tree using your Web browser. It's the easiest way to view NDS objects and attributes ever created.
