Using Microsoft Chat for Internet chatting

Using Microsoft® Chat you can take part in real-time conversations with people in chat rooms on the Internet. Chat rooms work like coffeehouses:  you sit down and stay a while, then you move on to someone else or leave.

Join an Internet chat room
You can chat using Microsoft Chat or Microsoft V-Chat.®   They work the same way, but they feel very different.  Microsoft Chat, which comes with Windows 98, makes your online persona into a cartoon character in a cartoon strip.  Microsoft V-Chat, which takes things a step further, turns you into a character you can move through a 3-D virtual world.  You can download V-Chat from the Microsoft Chat Web site.

Become a chat room host
Join an existing chat room or create your very own where you set the rules. Put limits on the topics, control who can enter the room, and generally set the mood and tone. It's your room, you can do what you want.
