Cover Art Creation Service

Prepress Services can be contracted to duplicate or slightly modify your existing cover designs. We can create artwork to your specifications for color cover shells. We will also create the text overlays that will be printed on top of the shells. The shells can be printed ahead of time so that your books can be printed on demand. We need the following to create cover art:

• Print-ready scanned artwork:
  • Clean (no scratches, no bad scan lines, correct color).
  • At or above final print resolution (1.5 to 2 times the target print screen).
  • At the dimensions desired for final printing.
  • Editable in Adobe Photoshop V3 or later.
  • In process (CMYK) color.
• A complete layout specification or approved sample including:
  • Document trim size.
  • Locations of all images and text.
  • Font specifications (names, weights and sizes).
  • Binding specifications (saddle-stitched, perfect bound, wire-o, etc.).
  • Page count and text body paper stock for perfect-bound books.
  • Paper stock for the cover.
  • Spot colors. Only Pantone Matching System (PMS) color names are acceptable.
• Editable files for the company logo and any non-scanned graphics. Logos and graphics must be provided in sizes required for final printed documents. Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia FreeHand source or editable EPS files are preferred.
