This is a slightly different request to the regular ones but I don't think
it's totally inappropriate...
I'd like to get some feedback from Digital Unix users who support an Oracle
DB on a TruCluster. We are looking at implementing such a system as the
backend for new administrative applications. The reason for a TruCluster is
to provide redundancy and possibly improved performance.
The sort of information I'd be interested in would include:
1) What sort of hardware are you using?
2) How have you implemented the DB on top of this? For example, are you
using Oracle Parallel server. If not, how do you provide for redundancy and
transparent failover?
3) Is it really redundant (can I power off one of the nodes transparently)?
4) If 3) works, what sort of recovery times are you looking at..
As always I'll summarize.
