Question: Suppose I jumpered an AlphaPC 164 board to 128bit memory bus width,
but filled all 8 sockets with SIMMs (though only 4 will be used).
Will the extra SIMMs confuse the board, or will they just be ignored?

Answer: As I found out by experiment, the extra memory will cause the
board to beep (well, the speaker beeps to be precise :-) and the machine
will not boot.
