SUMMERY (kinda): Converting from NT to DEC UNIX

-----------
My original problem:

I have an Alphaserver2000 which is being reclaimed back into the UNIX
world from the evil clutches of NT, but DEC UNIX 4.0c kept dying during
install with:

panic (cpu 0): kernel memory fault

DUMP: No primary swap, no explicit dumpdev
Nowhere to put header, giving up
-----------

Solutions:

I got a lot of suggestions and some bashing for trying to install an old
version of DEC UNIX. People also suggested I boot off the CD (which is
what I was having problems with) and that I reset the partition table from
within UNIX (which I was not being able to install).

I realize I was being a bit unclear with the question, and since I've got
my hands on a Tru64 dist, I'll report the question more clearly.

Thanks to everyone who helped.
