Original Question:
How to setup web server for Digital Unix 4.0E?
Answer:
First you can build Apache
http://www.apache.org/
(The world's most popular web server)
Second you can build a very nice web server written by one of your very own
(Dave Jones) at Ohio State!
http://www.er6.eng.ohio-state.edu/www/doc/serverinfo.html
The OSU Dec-Threads http daemon is one of the best and fastest WEB servers
available today (it is also free). It runs on both DU and OpenVMS and is
very robust and dependable.
Setup of OSU is very much like the original CERN web server.
The "easy way, out-of-the-box" is to install IASS (Internet Alpha Server
Software) from IASS CD. That will install Apache, as mandatory and anything
other you like: INN (news), WU-FTPd, QPopper (POP3), Cyrus IMAP4, WU IMAP4,
TCP
Wrappers,...
You should have Netscape FastTrack server on DU Associated Products CD1 and
we
all got Netscape Enterprize server for Digital UNIX.
