Greetings...
After spending an entire night working on trying to
get this card working on my system.. it's working!!
I know a lot of people have been trying to get such a
card to work and had very little luck. Here is what I
did to get it working:
1. Get a Microsoft Sound Board. I got mine off of
Ebay.
2. Install the MME subset and the C++ RTL.
3. Rebuild the kernel, and setup.
4. Shutdown the system, then power off.
5. Set the jumpers on the card to this:
--* <-Pin 1
--*
Make sure that pins are jumpered in the direction
shown.
6. Install the card, I placed it into the bottom ISA
slot.
7. Turn on the system, halt it at the SRM console.
8. Type this:
isacfg -mk -slot 1 -dev 0 -etyp 1 -handle PCXBJ
-iobase0 530 -iobase1 388 -enadev 1 -irq0 9
-dmachan0 0 -dmachan1 3
9. Then type this:
init
10. The system will reboot and you now have sound!
Here is the configuration of my machine:
PC-164LX
21164a (533-Mhz)
128MB Ram
DE500 (Tulip) NIC
Intraserver SCSI Controller
2-4.3 Gig SCSI HDD
Elsa Gloria Synergy 8MB Video
Microsoft Sound Board Rev. B
Toshiba CD-Rom
4mm SCSI Dat Drive
Floppy Drive.
Tru64 4.0F w/ Patch 1.
I hope some of this information will help others out
there who want sound on their clone alpha systems.
