As always, the solution came in a flash (faster, in fact, than the BCS
call I logged _before_ posting the message!).

My original question was in regard to daylight savings ending prematurely
on our 4.0F boxes, even though the australasia sources file seemed to be
correct. To add to the confusion the 4.0D boxes seemed OK.

As Grant Ward pointed out to me, I was looking at the wrong ruleset (AN
rather than AV). So all I need to do change:

Rule AV 1991 max - Mar Sun>=1 3:00 0 -

to

Rule AV 1996 max - Mar lastSun 3:00 0 -

and re-"zic".

The 4.0D boxes were correct because I'd fixed them up last year!

I would've thought if Compaq could get it right in 5.0 (which it appears
they have) they could've supplied a fix with one of the patch kits they
put out.

Thanks also to Ian Mortimer who pointed out that daylight savings may be
starting in August this year for some parts of Australia, because of the
Olympics. I guess that's something we'll have to keep an eye on, as it
looks like Compaq hasn't catered for this one either.

Sometimes daylight savings seems more trouble than it's worth, as Ian
says, all is does is "fades the curtains and upsets the cows."

Cheers,

Andrew
