SOLUTION:
To work around this problem we used "setld -x ..." to extract the
System 5 kit to /tmp. Then we were able to:
ftp the compressed tar file, SVEADM425, to another machine...
uncompress and untar the SVEADM425 file...
re-roll the tarball with a blocking factor of 1
( tar cvbf 1 SVEADM425 opt usr var )...
re-compress the tarfile...
copy it back up to the production server /tmp...
retry the setld -l operation using the kit in /tmp
It worked without complaint with the new re-blocked SVEADM425
ORIGINAL QUESTION:
I've run into the following problem when trying to install the System V
Environment from the 4.0F Associated Products Volume 2 CD. Do I
have a CD drive problem?
System Management Package
Copying from /mnt/System_V_Environment/kit/ (disk)
Working....Mon Apr 24 15:00:09 EDT 2000
tar: Archive - EOF not on block boundary
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
setld:

Subset SVEADM425 may not have been installed properly on your system
but the rest of the installation will continue.
