Advfs/ftx_recovery_pass problem

Hi:

I have an XP1000 running 4.0F that has a number of single disk Advfs
domains. Last week we had a power problem where the machine went down.
Upon reboot into multi-user mode the machine will now crash with a panic
and issue the following:

panic (cpu0): ftx_recovery_pass: log read error (1)
N1=-1065

The machine will boot into single user mode and I can then mount all of
the file systems except the one which contains the domain that generates
this error. Nearly all advfs commands, such as verify and rmfset, on the
domain in question will also crash the machine with the same error.
salvage did work for some reason though. advfs_err indicates the problem
is caused by being unable to access the transaction log and that the
domain must be recreated.

Since I cannot use rmfset to remove the domain my plan is to manually
remove it by deleting the associated entries in /etc/fdmns. The content
of the domain is not important.

My question is if anyone has experienced this before and might be able to
comment on whether this is the best way to resolve the problem?

Thanks for the help!
