Hi all,

This is just a post as a last minute reminder for Australian admins that
daylight savings times are different this year due to the Olympics - we are
changing on Sunday August 27 instead of the old zoneinfo rule date of Oct
29.

On checking before making changes here, we've found:

On 4.0D pk 2 systems the time is changing on Oct 29 (as you would expect)
On 4.0D pk 6 systems the time is changing on Oct 29 (errm - isnt this kit is
rather recent?)
On 4.0D pk 3 systems the time is changing on Oct 29 (I guess you'd expect
that too)
On 4.0F pk 1 systems the time is changing on Oct 29
On 5.0 systems (no patches) the time is changing on Aug 26th at 2 am (smiles
- Saturday instead of Sunday, but at least thats something ).

So we are checking and resetting them all it seems. We aren't running the
most recent patchkits, but others might want to check just in case.

I wrote instructions for our internal staff and trainees on timezone
changes, aimed specifically at olympics daylight savings changes. I'm
attaching them as a reference for anyone that is interested or searches
archives for how to change the zoneinfo files for their timezone. These are
for 4.0x, but are mostly correct for 5.0.

Enjoy,

Danielle
