Hi admins,
the outcome of my previous question concerning the duplication of disk-sets
at two different places was one answer from alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com (thanks
alan), who pointed out that DRM is probably the right thing to use.
Talked to other people at Compaq, and we were able to derive another
solution, featuring LSM to provide mirroring capabilities to the two
disksets. This setup would imply two DS-KGPSA-CA in each machine of a TRC
along with altogether 4 switches (the distance between the two buildings
exceeds the allowed 250 meters for 62.5 micron FC) .
As the DS-KPGSA-CA is an EMULEX LP8000 the following question comes up :
DS-KGPSA-CA supports 50 micron FC only. But you can buy EMULEX LP8000 with
different GBICs. Has anybody pros and cons, or at the better experience,
concerning the usage of a LP8000 with the single-mode GBIC interface. This
would be (in EMULEX terms) the LP8000-L1 controller.
TIA
Mit freundlichen Grüßen
