AdvFS: missing or corrupted disklabel?

I am attempting to create a AdvFS file domain in Tru64 v4.0F. The disk
device rzf40 points to a mirrored 9GB disk pair on an HSZ70 array
controller. The LUN is D005. The mirror was initialized prior to the LUN
be defined.

When I attempt to create the file domain I receive the following message:

    #mkfdmn /dev/rzf40c raid01
The disklabel for /dev/rrzf40c does not exist or is corrupted.
    Quitting ....
mkfdmn: can't create new domain 'raid01'

What step did I miss?

Thanks,

-Ric
