RAID reconfiguration

System:
Alphaserver 1200 running 4.0d
Single KZPBA-CB SCSI host adaptor, feeding from
2x HSZ70 RAID controllers in pure failover configuration, controlling
42x SCSI spindles (mainly in RAID5 arrays, contained in ESA10000 cabinet)

Issue:
We intend to improve IO bandwidth by the installation of a second KZPBA.

Queries:
I'd like to reconfigure the RAID sets such that half have a preference for
each HSZ70, each of which feeds into one KZPBA, but retain the failover.
So, if either HSZ fails we fail back to all traffic through the other and
its partner KZPBA, but don't lose the system.
- Is this a legal/ supported system configuration?
- Can the RAID set channel preferences be changed on the fly, to make half
of them utilise the 'other' HSZ70 with its new KZPBA?

I don't need to know how to do it necessarily, as our reseller will be
supplying and fitting the hardware. But, they're pushing for us to buy two
more HSZ70's ($$$'s!!) and I'm not convinced that this is necessary except
to improve their sales figures.

Thanks
