I am trying to establish a connection with the ES40's DB9 "modem" port,
using a null-modem cable. I can talk to the RMC, but nothing is coming
through to the "internal system COM1" port (as it is called in the manual).
The internal COM1 port is supposed to be connected directly to the modem
port when com1_mode is set to any of the bypass modes. I've tried all of
them; nothing happened. Neither SRM nor the OS can talk to the terminal.
In the `Snoop' bypass mode I can get to the RMC prompt and conversate with
the RMC, but after I type `quit' and receive `Returning to COM1', the line
is dead again.
COM2 is functioning properly, both under SRM and OS control.
The DTR, DSR, CTS, RTS, and CD signals on COM1 are all ON. I suspect that
RMC is not doing the bypass correctly. Its flash firmware revision is
V2.5. I'm just curious if it's a known/solvable problem or I should call
the support team...
Thanks,
Nikita
