Thank you to everyone who responded to this problem.
Basically the problem was as follows:
While doing the vrestore I should have specified the
-D /usr option, which dumps the backed up data on the
/usr fileset. Instead it was being dumped to the root
fileset.
I kinda felt dumb for not realizing this, but at the
same time felt great that that there are many people
on this list who are extremely knowledgeable and
helpful.
