Dear admins,
I had asked about the possibility to use a BA350 SCSI cabinet with
RZ28 and TLZ06 on PCs (Intel, Linux).
I got these answers (ordered by time of arrival):
- Klas Erlandsson
(using a BA350 at a PC with Dual SCSI card and Win ME)
- Dr. Thomas P. Blinn
"SCSI is pretty universal; in general, you can readily mix
equipment
from the same generation and it will just work (e.g., all SCSI-2,
which is what the BA350 and the RZ28 disks and the TLZ06 tape
are)."
He also reminded me that this
"old BA350 is probably good for fast narrow SCSI at most"
- Kurt Ludwig
"from what I've seen, any DEC SCSI device works just fine on a
standard SCSI subsystem (i.e. a BA350 off an Adaptec)."
So I am quite confident this nice old stuff can be used further
in that new environment.
Regards and thanks,
Joerg Bruehe
