LAN WorkPlace 5 includes both a client and a server for the Finger protocol.
First up: The Finger Daemon.
When launched it automatically opens the plan file in notepad.
Put something in my plan file.
Notepad saved & exited, the finger daemon just sits there in the corner ready to be fingered.

Nothing much in the file menu. Edit plan just brings up the plan file in notepad.

About Finger
Fingering myself. The LAN Workplace finger daemon doesn't seem to have any user option or listen on the loopback interface so I had to finger the machines IP. It doesn't matter what you put in the user field - you get the same plan file regardless.
The Finger Daemon after being fingered. I kind of expected it would have shown some status information in its big empty window but no - seems this window exists only to house a menu bar. No way to tell if people have been fingering you over the network I guess.
I'm not a netware expert, don't have any of those fancy novell certifications and have never administred a netware network; I've just played with it at home occasionally since 2004 or so. Email me if you've got any suggestions or corrections for this page or any extra information you think is worth including here.
