OSF/1, Digital UNIX and Tru64 UNIX Media Kit Contents

Below are tables showing the contents of the various OSF/1, Digital UNIX and Tru64 UNIX Media Kits I have obtained.

QA-6ADAA-H8.51B4 — HP Tru64 5.1B-4 CD-ROM Kit

This was a brand new shrink-wrapped CD-ROM Kit shipped straight from HP to Me. It did not contain a part list/software bill of materials, but it is known to be complete. The box is smaller and of a different style to the other media kits here - more like a traditional PC software box. No printed manuals besides a few quick reference cards.

QA-6ADAA-W8.5.1B — HP Tru64 5.1B CD-ROM Update Kit

I received this Tru64 UNIX CD-ROM Update Kit with a second-hand AlphaServer 1200. Based on the included Software Bill of Materials it appears to be complete. As I didn't receive it shrink-wrapped, I can't be sure there isn't anything extra present.

QA-6ADAA-W8.5.1A — Compaq Tru64 5.1A CD-ROM Update Kit

I received this Tru64 UNIX CD-ROM Update Kit with a second-hand AlphaServer 1200. Based on the included Software Bill of Materials it appears to be complete except for the Operating System CD which was sadly missing. As I didn't receive it shrink-wrapped, I can't be sure there isn't anything extra present.

QA-6ADAA-W8.5.1 — Compaq Tru64 5.1 CD-ROM Update Kit

I received this Tru64 UNIX CD-ROM Update Kit with a second-hand AlphaServer 1200. The software bill of materials indicates that nothing is missing. The packaging for this one is a bit odd - instead of a nice branded box with colourful graphics just the right size for its contents, it came in a plain nondescript brown carton covered in shipping labels. The part number is on one of the labels, one of the assemblies inside is too large (A4 sized) to fit in one of the normal Tru64 box, and the Software Bill of Materials doesn't list the box as it usually does which would suggest that this is indeed how Compaq shipped it originally. Rather odd. As I didn't receive it still sealed I can't be sure nothing extra is present.

QA-MT4AP-H8.4.0A — Digital UNIX 4.0A

This was a new-old-stock still shrink-wrapped media kit packaged together with Version 3.2G (QA-MT4AQ-H8.3.2G) and a Digital UNIX Packaged Kit letter (AV-QTLUB-TE) explaining the two releases. The list of parts below is complete.

QA-MT4AQ-H8.3.2G — Digital UNIX Alpha V3 CDROM Kit 13-SEP-96 (v3.2G)

This was a new-old-stock still shrink-wrapped media kit packaged together with Version 4.0A (QA-MT4AP-H8.4.0A) and a Digital UNIX Packaged Kit letter (AV-QTLUB-TE) explaining the two releases. The list of parts below is complete. Most online documentation for this release is only available in Bookreader format.
